PANEL NAME: WARP DRIVE
OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS
FUNCTION OVERVIEW:
Three separate critical factors are monitored at this
display:
ACTIVE FUEL CELLS - Two
active remote scanners located inside the warp core monitoring
the condition of antimatter power taps that are imbedded on the
inner surface of the reactor core. Inactive cells are identified
and reactor capacity reduced accordingly.
DILITHIUM CRYSTAL MASS -
Measure the decay of each dilithium crystal array. The inner and
outer grey bands show expansion limits. Dilithium crystals
shrink as they absorb antiprotons.
WARP COIL STATUS - Shows
the efficiency of each of the 12 warp coils on each nacelle.
Warp field can be maintained with only one active coil per
nacelle but four coils per nacelle are required in order to
initiate a warp field. Warp coil status must be balanced between
the two nacelles, if a port nacelle coil goes off-line the
corresponding starboard coil must be taken off-line also..
CALIBRATION PROCEDURE:
This is a passive display, no calibration required.
